Lift You High
I’d been thumbing my way through the visual edition of Phillip Yancey’s ‘What’s So Amazing About Grace?’, (get it, it’s so good!) and was just struck afresh by the grace of God. Nothing that I can give, do or be, can repay God for what He’s done for me. I’m forever in debt to Him. Normally I hate being in debt to anyone and try to repay what I owe as fast as I can, but this debt is different. There’s no interest charges, no minimum repayments required, and no hidden charges in the fine print, in fact God doesn’t even ask us to try and pay Him back – ever! I’m learning to enjoy being in debt to God. If I could pay Him back, what He’s given wouldn’t be all that valuable! And though I don’t have to and though I know it’s just a drop in the ocean of what He deserves I’m trying to let my life be a song of thanks to Him each day for what He’s done – He redeemed my life, so I”ll spend mine heaping honour on Him, lifting Him high.
