Ride
Chels and I have been on a real journey over the last few years. Our whole understanding of ministry has been turned upside down. We were challenged incredibly by the most humble and godly human being we’ve ever known to take another look at the life of Jesus in the gospel accounts. What we discovered rocked our boat big-time! We discovered that Jesus ministry strategy revolved largely around two things, firstly the sharing of life with a small bunch of ordinary men and secondly, intimate relationship with his Father. Ride is all about a posture of dependence and reliance upon our Dad, born out of intimate relationship with Him. It’s about aligning ourselves with Him and listening for His voice, and gaining His insight into the moments that we’re about to live. Jesus throughout the gospels slips away in the early morning to talk with his Dad, to get direction for the coming day, to share time together. If the Son of God needed to do it, that’s good enough for me. John 15:5, ‘…apart from me you can do nothing’. It’s pretty clear ‘hang with the Creator and you’ll bear fruit. Try bearing fruit on your own and you’re in for a pruning!!! I dare you to read John Ch 14 and 15 and ask God to speak to you through it!
