Saturate

Sometimes referred to as the ‘chicken song’ by the band because of the line ‘marinate me’, this song was written a number of years ago after I’d just finished a full on four year stint touring Australia full-time with schools ministry band Corazon. I was spiritually exhausted and this song kind of just spilled out me as a plea to God to renew me and take me deeper into Himself. Why the line ‘marinate me’? When you marinate a piece of meat you get the most distinctive flavour when you let it soak for an extended period of time. In my experience it’s the same with us and God. Intimate, unhurried time in the presence of the Creator without an agenda but to ‘be with’ Him brings life transformation.
I’m convinced of that!
Be still, and know that I am God
